Flysurfer History
Flysurfer was founded in 2001 as a subsidiary of Skywalk GmbH & Co. KG. The first products immediately focused on innovation, including self-inflating air inlets and an automatic restart function. The MASTAIR 16m² made an impression from day one in light wind conditions. Four paragliders with a shared passion for technology and sport formed the basis of the brand. Flysurfer initially focused on foil kites, and later expanded with tube kites and boards. With technologies such as the WAC system and Triple Depower, the brand managed to distinguish itself, especially within foil and snowkite disciplines. Since 2008, Flysurfer has also been developing kiteboards in-house, with the aim of delivering durable and practical gear. With innovations such as the Infinity Bar and models like the SPEED and CRONIX, Flysurfer has grown into a stable name within the international kitesurfing scene, active in more than 30 countries.

Flysurfer Development
Since its establishment in 2001, Flysurfer has steadily developed into a leading brand in the kitesurfing world. By continuously investing in product development and innovation, the assortment expanded from foil kites to include tube kites and boards. Technologies such as Triple Depower and the Infinity Bar ensured better control and ease of use. Flysurfer remains true to its core values: durability, simplicity, and performance. Everything is designed in-house and extensively tested. Thanks to this approach, the brand is now active in more than 30 countries and loved by a wide range of riders.
Flysurfer and collaborations
Flysurfer works closely with professional kitesurfers, designers, and external partners to continuously improve their products. Team riders such as Luca Ceruti, Evan Klijn, and Roderick Pijls have won titles with Flysurfer in disciplines like Big Air and Foil Racing. Their feedback plays an important role in refining performance, handling, and durability. The brand is also innovative in terms of design. Developers like Armin Harich and Andreas Hanrieder have contributed to technological breakthroughs, including the WAC system and Triple Depower. Flysurfer actively seeks collaborations with companies that offer technical knowledge or sustainable solutions. This led to projects with LEVITAZ (hydrofoils), Rubbish (recycling), and EnerKite (wind energy). In addition, intensive testing takes place at events and testivals, often supervised by brand ambassadors. Thanks to this direct link between practice and development, Flysurfer remains innovative and reliable. The combination of top athlete experience and technical expertise has formed the basis for their product development for years.
Flysurfer Kites throughout the years
Flysurfer develops a wide range of kites for various kitesurfing disciplines. Whether you're looking for maximum performance in light wind, a foil kite, or a reliable all-rounder, Flysurfer offers well-thought-out models with smart technology. Below you will find an overview of the Flysurfer kites we offer on the Kitemana website, each with its own character and application area.
The Flysurfer Soul 3 is a versatile closed-cell foil kite that excels in ease of use, stability, and light wind performance. This third generation of the popular Soul series is primarily designed for freeride and foil, but can also be used for big air and even light-wind twintip sessions. Thanks to its efficient shape, smooth depower range, and stable flying characteristics, the Soul 3 is ideal for both recreational and advanced kitesurfers. The kite offers long hangtime, is easy to relaunch, and remains reliable in turbulent conditions. With durable materials, improved aerodynamics, and refined handling, the Flysurfer Soul 3 guarantees long, enjoyable sessions on the water and in the snow.
The Flysurfer Sonic 4 is a high-performance closed-cell foil kite, designed for advanced kitesurfers seeking maximum performance in foil racing and big air. With its elongated shape, minimal drag, and explosive lift, the Sonic 4 delivers impressive hangtime and upwind capabilities. This fourth generation combines speed with precision, offering improved control in the high wind range without sacrificing stability. The kite is built with lightweight and durable materials and responds directly to input thanks to its optimized profile and revised bridle structure. The Sonic 4 is a good choice for kiters who want to refine their technique and achieve greater performance.
The Flysurfer ERA is a powerful and playful tube kite, designed for big air and hooked freestyle. This line was developed with input from Flysurfer's international team and focuses on kitesurfers who want to combine height, control, and style. The ERA features a compact and sturdy 5-strut design that provides stability in strong winds and impressive jumps with lots of hangtime. Both the ERA V1 and the improved ERA V2 are available at Kitemana. While the V1 already convinced with direct feedback and predictable behavior in the air, the V2 adds extra explosiveness and refined bar pressure. Thanks to its sturdy construction, fast loops, and powerful lift, the ERA is the ideal choice for big-air kiters. With the ERA, Flysurfer shows that they not only excel in foil kites but also in performance tube kites.
